Bus Travel to & from Istanbul Buses arrive in Istanbul at Esenler terminal, northwest of the city center. From the terminal, the major bus companies offer free minibus service to centers such as Sultanahmet, Taksim, and Aksaray. The Hizli Tren (rapid train) also connects the terminal to Aksaray, though it is often very crowded and can be extremely hot in summer. A few buses from Anatolia arrive at Harem terminal, on the eastern shore of the Bosporus. If you arrive with baggage, it is much easier to take a taxi, which will cost about $10 to Taksim from the Esenler terminal and about $6 to Old Istanbul. |
